Costa Rica

The past week we have been in Costa Rica revisiting memorable places from last time we were here three years ago. We started by spending 4 days in Tortuguero, a small reggae influinced town only 100 yards wide with a lagoon on one side and the ocean on the other. We spent most of this time swimming in the ocean, body-surfing. We also had the opportunity to go on a night-hike and watch a sea turtle lay eggs. This is an amazing thing to watch and learn about. After our time in Tortuguero we took a series of boats and buses to get to Ciudad Quesada for 2 days, where we had volunteered for 3 weeks when we were here last time. We stayed with the principle of the school that we had volunteered at and were able to see some familiar places and faces. We have now come back to San Jose and tomorrow we fly back to the states.

Oh my gosh -it all sounds so cool. Was it neat to see these places that you visited several years ago? So you got to go back to India AND back to Costa Rica. Sweetness! Ted wants to do a summer law program in Costa Rica... What book ya reading on the balcony there? Ted JUST finished the 7th Harry Potter book. Ya, he didn't really talk to me for a few days - just sat there, engrossed in Harry-land. I hope you all have a safe flight!

If you zoom in the photo you can just make out that he is reading "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Eyre. He is just at the point where Mister Darcy tells Lulu-Bell that he can't marry her because he has a terrible disease, and she responds by burying her head under a potted plant. I for one do not see why Luke is bothering with these histrionic 19th century bagatelles. Next thing you know he'll be reading Dickens, forsooth.
