I leave Mindo this afternoon. It´s been a pleasant and touching experience. I laughed, I cried. ¡Two thumbs way up! These last few days my brother came to visit us here in Mindo and present us with a horse of a different colour. On his way here he did actually see three dead horses in the road, the aftermath of a horse-drawn carrige wreck on the edge of a cliff. He came out on top and is now perfectly fine. I have now jumped off a 4o foot cliff into a narrow gorge on the teetering edge of a waterfall, gone ziplining, rafted through constant rapids during a driving rain, and at last had my final batido.
We are heading back to Quito today, where we will stay for two days, then go to the Amazon (here called the Oriente).

Luke I am loving reading your blog. Your travels sound very interesting. I can't wait to hear more.
Plus, you have good taste in blog design (I used the same one for my blog.)
you jumped off a what???? did your mother know?? ;) i know my mom would have flipped out. wow, what a great time luke!
do batidos come in chocolate?
Thanks Michele, I´ll have to have a look at your blog. Yes, my mother knew. Batidos are fruit, milk, and ice. Oh, and sugar. But I suppose they could be chocolate
Personally I don't have any problem with the caymans; I'd be worried about the trichomycterids. I'm just saying.
oops sorry that was supposed to go under swimming in the Amazon
